It’s surprising to note that even with the economic downturn; the places that looked like it barely got affected are the shopping malls, airing grand decorations in different themes, lavishly looking all so fritzy and Christmas-y. Christmas always seem so magical; there ain’t any other celebration that can match up to it!!! There were uplifting songs churning in the air, and people stopping by to take snapshots of themselves around the decorations.
As for me, I took the advantage to experience all that it had to offer and went for shopping and even more window shopping!!! =D This year, as it has always been a custom, I bought my family Christmas presents. The first one I found wuz for sis, a laptop bag. Then it went on to dad, which I bought him two new pants for work. Then it went on to mom, a handbag, and finally bro. I also took the chance to get something small, in the spirit of Christmas for Selene, Vanessa, and Jeen. Then just two days before Christmas, I went shopping at Parkson and bought a few new clothes for myself. 2 skirts, 1 cargo pants, and 2 shirts altogether. Since I wuz shopping, I bought a new gift for Clare too, a long time friend which I haven’t seen in 123456 years! I wuz filled with delight when I received her text exclaiming she wuz in Malaysia and I had to get her something, so I got her a nice brown long-sleeved top, which I thought would be handy in Australia during summer or perhaps Autumn. Hope she liked it!!!
Christmas this year wuz warm and nice. As it wuz all about family, we all gathered at dad’s shop to celebrate with daddy and Uncle Kwong. Uncle Kwong bought us a really pretty log cake from Bread Story, and sis got turkey from a German restaurant. Kinda forgot the name. I cooked fried rice (which wuz lacking in salt-Eh can’t blame wei, I never cooked for so many people before!) and earlier in the morning, dad cooked fried crispy pork! I even brought ColB to shop so that he could get a share of all the love and fun too. =)
