What I've realised???

A few things that I have notice whilst being in this foreign land:

1. The cereals here are really cheap..! For £2, a decent breakfast of Honey Nut Flakes and Fresh/ Skimmed milk is actually very satisfying.!! And in my case, fills in the grumpy tummy during late nights. (Oh how much I miss my dad's fried rice...and noodles...and smoked chicken...and desserts....and fruits...and how much i miss the sound of the blasting TV!!!)

2. There's price discrimination here even on groceries..! (considering the intense competition since there is at least one departmental store in every street) So you gotta be a price sensitive shopper coz everything here is soooooo expensive...! RM x 5=£1 right????? =0

3. While ladies here walk around in spaghetti straps, skin-fitted thin dresses and back-laced attires, we are strapped around thick scarves and accommodatingly wholesome jackets. (What losers we are. Me included. Haha.)

4. Newspapers have naked people in it and it doesn't amuse people around here. And they have strip clubs too. (Eh I didn't go yah. I'm a goody-two-shoes one. hehe.. =P) I mean I knew it all along that people here are waaaay more open-minded and stuffs but can't help being staggered when I was shown that particular second page of the newspaper. Aikss...

5. British people are courteous drivers!!! In Malaysia you'll find men in white collars and dark suits honking at his first opportunity, but in busy roads and junctions where it's clearly the driver's rather than the pedestrians way, they actually stop and gives way to us pedestrians. Back in the homeland, not many has the time or most importantly, the heart to be courteous. In many instances other than this, the courtesy of the people around here precede us in far and many ways. Which I appreciate. =)

6. While their 1 and 5 pence is smaller than their 10 pence, their 10 pence coin is a bit bigger in size than their 20 pence!!! And the biggest of them all is the 2 pence, which loses by a bit to their 50 pence is diameter. Guess over here, size doesn't really matter right??? Which is good, because it shows the depth in their perception. =) We should learn from them and quit being shallow people. =P

7. Everything closes at 5. Most departmental stores, shops, offices-everything. So by six, although the sky has light, the road gets sooo quiet and lonely u can hear your own footsteps echoing in the distance while walking, and at night, it's like Ghost Town already. (Oooooooooo.....)

Know what I'm thinking right now???

I'm thinking about my dad's cooking, in particular his roasted pork. I miss it so much I swear I would take the first flight home and endure that 15 hours jetlag just to taste it again... you have no idea how good a cook dad is...and how I miss him... =(

Listening to Janet Jackson's Nothing right now. Awesome one. Soothing to the soul~..

Lotsa love.
