Love, what is it?
Love is like a miracle waiting to happen. It's like sunshine after the rain, where it brings hope and happiness. It's curiosity, like wondering what really lies at the other end of that beautiful rainbow, it's the birds that sing in perfect harmony in the wee hours of the morning. It's that tinge in your heart, that fuzzy feeling when you look at him in the eyes, and the sense of completion when he holds your hand. Those simple words of bantering which helplessly makes you smile.
It's appreciating the good, and accepting the bad.
It's foolish in a sense.
It's hope.
It's happiness.
It's contentment.
How can we be sure that we really love someone?
Through time. Time tells it all. And you'll just know it. When he becomes a significant part of your life, when you're constantly looking out for that person even when he's near or far. It's the ache in the heart when you don't see him for a long time, and the contentment you feel after waiting for so long, and that all the wait in the world was worthwhile. It's you never being able to be too mad for too long because you know that being mad is just a waste of time, and you wouldn't be able to last long being all stressed up and emo anyways. It ain't cool. =)
Conflicts?
Some things are inevitable, arguments included. Two people with different opinions and perceptions on a particular matter is bound to come into a disagreement one way or another. But what's important is that you respect the other half in the sense that you hear what he has to say and see its relevance. Even if it's not relevant, you gotta let him have his say. Well, this typically applies to the girls, coz guys are always more rational.
Love is what's left after the passion of being "in love" wears out. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes of different kinds. At times, mistakes gets repeated, especially when that person is just as forgetful in almost every aspect.. Therefore, it takes a wholesome confidence, a bundle of patience and heaps and heaps of tolerance. The utmost importance, understanding.

Can we still love each other until we are ninety?
Loyalty. The question that disturbs us all even in the most secure and steady of relationships. We are mere human, and at times, despite being strong will-powered, there are instances where temptations prove too great for frail organisms like us to reluctantly restrain. Domestic problems are one, external factors are another.
90 is a looooong number. I guess it comes down to the person and what his principles of life are. But it's difficult, really. To have a love to last through decades and decades. That is the main reason why I helplessly take second glances when old couples, whether sitting by the bench in the park, having casual conversations or just sitting there with their fingers attached to each other, and that makes me smile, knowing that they sure had to go through a lot of bullshits before coming to that state. It's something to adore!!! =)
Why him, why her?
Why oh why??? We search the land for that one true love, having perceptions engraved in our minds when we were younger (as girls) on how prince charming would look like, and the fairytale story that would happen only to realise one day that reality doesn't work that way. Reality is, well, realistic. Nevertheless, things could be wonderful, when you find that other half that you see the world in, and when he or she sees the same in you.

Finding out whether that one person is "the right one" is a gradual process. It's where two people find similar interests in certain things, yet lets room for differences to occupy.
So why him, why her??? Well, simply because, it IS him, it IS her. There is really no answer to that. =)

"Love is just a word until you find someone to give it a definition."
Is there one person out there "made" just for me?
I'm a strong advocate in the games of "fate". I truly believe that in this world, each and everyone of us have a soulmate, and through the course of our respective lives that two people, absolutely unknown to each other or, by the strings of network connections like a mutual friend, etc would eventually come to an "intersection" and meet in between the lines of fate. All it takes is just...well, probably jumping over some bridges, swimming through some ponds and maneuvering through the jungle (figuratively, of course).
The proverb "love at first sight" does not apply for me, because a person attracted to the opposite (or similar) sex by the looks at first glance would just be appreciating the beauty of the sight without truly knowing who the person really is, or what he or she is made out of. Such attractions are purely lust or infatuation-based. Only through the course of knowing each other through conversations and similar interests (even differing for that matter) will a person know whether that "he" or "she" is the right one for her or him.
Bottom line is, there IS such a thing called "fate", and it works in "mysterious" ways...and there is no short cut to love. Coz love is all about the journey, not the destination. =)
