That Simple Sandwich

I was at the hospital cafeteria this noon, looking at this weird-tasting piece of chicken sandwich that I had in one hand and my phone on the other, and my thoughts went to this yummy piece of sandwich I had a very long time ago.

Sandwich was never my cup of tea before I stepped out of the country, and realised that pieces of breads stocked up one after another would be what makes a decent meal in a foreign land. In fact, breads, thin pieces of bacon or ham, and eggs and (if I'm not lazy), some lettuce or tomatoes makes a colourful, good healthy sandwich. To be honest, really miss cooking in Sheffield. Miss baking and watching my banana cake turn from pale yellow mixture to fluffy golden brown.  Miss cooking spaghetti bolognese and maggi mee. Miss opening the dorm door with the fresh scent of banana cake welcoming me home. And I haven't eaten scrambled eggs with sausages in the longest time!!! Ahh, all the simple things that used to make life so fulfilling. =)

Had to dig through the old pics for some photos.

(my usual everyday meal. This one was made for a day out, picnic)

(from left, Siew Chin, Chee Teng, Kok Leng, Yi Foong)

(yummy garlic bread from Waitrose)

(my first and last home-made lasagna)
(waiting for the cake to be done!!!)

This was how my kitchen looked.

Damn nice rite? How can you NOT cook when the kitchen looks like this???

And my lovely room, oh how comfortable it used to be. Waking up to the fresh breeze in the morning.

Taking night walks around the neighbourhood.

..the greenery..

.
*Ahhh..my favourite chocolate drink. Will never forget how it tastes in my mouth and down my throat. It's out of this world...*

..And the cereal that I wished I brought back some when I left. =(..

And the daily usual Friends episode coupled with some yummy grapes during the season.

Would give up many things to have another four more months.

But yeah, snap back to reality.

Sigh.

It's another year soon.

Hoping for the best!

lotsa love.
